The goalies in the A league would like to get rid of save%. I saw that the goalie who played for me one game gave up 8 goals on 11 shots. Somehow I think he had more than three saves. Another game we got 10 shots against and another had 14 shots against. These scorekeepers can't cound shots so let's just not bother. I've never had a save% under .800, even in my worst junior year! I wonder what these scorekeepers have to do to earn the whole $15 per game. I should not be happy about leaving the stat out because I'm usually in the lead in save%, but how real is that seriously? My friends in Vancouver looked me up and gave me #$!% about my stats. .790 is a pretty sweet save% eh?

Thanks,

M-Kaz

Why you gotta bag on the scorekeepers? I know from an earlier post you said you were entering a midlife crisis, maybe over the years, you've just...sorta, I don't know... declined?
Whatever the reason is ,it is no reason to bag on the scorekeepers.

I am telling them you said they can't count. See how your stats do then.
See you in the upcoming season Kaz!!

I think this is everywhere. I've played at all the rinks in the valley. I think I had maybe 1 or 2 good people behind the bench there keeping track. I know a few times where I have made 2, 3 saves, looked up and saw "1" added to the total..

It's hard to watch it all. Some people I've seen reading books, doing homework.. etc..

I guess it's better than that dude at Polar Ice that used to bring nothing but a crappy Jazz CD and play that between every face-off.. OMG!

I thought this discussion died months ago, nice work grave diggers.
I'm not gonna lie, watching your games is very boring and it is definitely hard to not want to do something else such as sleep, whittle, or flex my guns in the reflection of the glass. I personally prefer to just leave the box completely and see how long until people notice. I do think I have a solution though, why don't all you goalies just come to the box at the end of each game and tell the score keeper how many shots you faced. This would work great because then we wont have to worry ourselves with mundane tasks like counting or paying attention. ;)
