Several players have asked me why the summer season is 'more expensive' than the winter season so I would like to clarify how the seasons are structured and how the fees are calculated. The summer season is now our longer season to take advantage of better ice times available in the spring and summer. The summer 2008 season is 22 games minimum per team for $480 per player ($21.82 per game). This past winter 2007-08 season was 16 games minimum per team for $350 per player ($21.88 per game). So when factoring in the number of games the summer 2008 season is the same price as this past season. Also, I want to highlight that Summit Hockey League calculates player fees based on a 15-player roster (not a 16-player roster like other leagues) and also that the hockey insurance policy is included in the league fees ($40 per year at other leagues). I strive to offer the best possible value in adult hockey and if anybody has any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to call or email.
